I was a science educator for 17 years driven by a desire to help others understand the natural world. I retired very early to become a caregiver for my parents, I found myself searching for something that would keep my mind engaged and my hands busy during a season of life that required both patience and resilience.
Then one day, a swarm of honeybees settled on our farm.
What began as a simple curiosity quickly became a fascination. The more I learned about honeybees, the more I was drawn to their complexity—their communication, organization, instinct, and extraordinary role in our ecosystem. Beekeeping continues to teach me that some of nature's most remarkable lessons can be found by slowing down, paying attention, and remaining curious.

Every jar of Nowlin Nectar honey is harvested and bottled on the farm, where attention to detail takes precedence over volume.
Our deliberate, hands-on approach honors both the bees and the land, resulting in honey that reflects the unique character of each season and bloom.
What the Experience Includes:
2 hours in the apiary with Autumn
Bees 101 with guided instruction
Hands-on hive inspection (weather permitting)
Learn to read frames, brood patterns, nectar flow & bee behavior
